Annotations
Annotations give additional information relating to documents stored in a DMS like bitfarm-Archiv Document Management, for example.
Annotations in Document Management Systems
Documents stored in the Document Management System are audit-proof, i.e. they can no longer be altered. As with paper documents it is often necessary to be able to add notes or comments, stamps and signatures etc. to the document. For this purpose Document Management Systems contain an editor.
The additional pieces of information – the annotations – are not stored on the original document, but in a separate place. Thus making them reversible while protecting the original documents' audit-safety.
